F1 Race Day Baku

Expect the Unexpected – the slogan of the Baku F1. Well we got the unexpected in that nothing unexpected happened! Unlike the Sprint races and the Practice runs, the main race was a hallmark of safety conscious driving! The Sprint race brought home the fact that any mistake will deliver serious consequences.

It was great that Checo drove a brilliant race and won the Baku F1 GP. Once again, the Red Bull cars are so far ahead of the others that only mistakes and engine issues will allow other F1 teams to win. However, there is, at least, a title battle between the two Red Bull drivers. Alpine were a disappointment with their much vaunted straight line speed. Mercedes and Ferrari just did what they could and Aston Martin delivered their now common top 10 positions with Alonso missing 3rd but obtaining a very respectable 4th.
