Bahrain P 3 & Qualies
Another great day at the racetrack. Got close up and personal with more F1 drivers in the Fanzone – except Mercedes who didn’t show up at the last minute and Ferrari who were fashionably late (it’s ok, they are Italian!) It was hotter today and there were loads more people making for a much feistier afternoon both on and off the track. Noisier too!
The racing was, as expected, really exciting with the dark horse of Aston Martin mixing up the the three top teams. Great stuff. David almost bought a green shirt! Mercedes were better than expected but still a bit off the pace. McLaren – what happened and equally, Alpine – where was all the promise? Poor old Williams were where they always are. Crowd wild at the mere sight of Red Bull.
Without sounding as if I live in Little Whinging, Surrey, there are a couple of things that could have made the day better. You are not permitted to take in water so had to empty out all our water. When you get inside you can get water for free using the, now empty, bottles! But there is only one water refill station for 70 000 people! Also trying to leave was a complete nightmare with every person having to go through turnstiles but having to individually scan our tickets! With the population of a small town attempting to leave at the same time…this was madness! Otherwise, it is a very well organised event, except for the busses back into town – a bit chaotic there! However it all added to the craziness and excitement of the day, the noise, the smells, the noise, the people, the noise, the exhilaration…can’t wait for tomorrow and RACE DAY!
Looks crazy! 😜
Good or bad, experience not to miss. You two look so happy! Go for it! 🙂
