Bahrain Arrival

First Day

Bahrain and New Zealand flag waving in the wind against white cloudy blue sky together. Diplomacy concept, international relations.

Bahrain International Airport is very opulent lots of white marble and glass, very friendly officials and efficient processing. Grabbed a taxi to our hotel now 2am – should have listened to the taxi driver who expressed surprise when we gave him the hotel name, however, we are on a budget and not judgemental so ignored the shabby exterior. Couple of red flags raised at check in…1. Cash only. 2. no booking system – but in our defence we were exhausted after 19 hours of flying….until we got to the room!! See the pictures and do your own judging! (didn’t even photograph the stained sheets) Long story short – by 9am we were across town and grateful to be in a new hotel, very happy to see the back of Bab Al Bahrain Hotel.

Arrived in Bahrain

Spent most the day sleeping in clean lovely Juffair Gate Hotel! More to come tomorrow..

It has flags and everything…
