Australian Grand Prix
The most amazing race!
What a mix of chaotic scenes, excitement and drama. The Australian Grand Prix at Albert
Park gave us a display never witnessed before. The crowd loved it – the drivers less so. The Melbourne crowd soaked up all the tension and drama of the day. And what a day! Eight cars not finishing, both Alpines taking each other out of the race and points. Lewis holding off a determined Alonso, Max Verstappen finding himself in third position (but not for long) after a great start from Russell and Hamilton. Alex Albon hitting the barrier only to bounce onto the track in a cloud of dust, and evasive action required by Alpine and Haas drivers. Russell’s car exploding into flames, numerous red flags and yellow flags. The safety cars doing more laps than some of the F1 cars. Haas making it into points – the day could not get any weirder! It was amazing. It is what F1 is all about.
What a get race day… things can only get better at the next one hopefully less safety cars😂
Fascinating to be in Baku so early and watch the race track develop (as it is a street circuit) literally walking crossing the track daily as we are staying metres away from a part of it!!!
Melbourne looked hectic! With Baku F1 not till end of month what adventures have you planned in between times?
Currently spending a few days in Baku, Azerbaijan. Will post about this fascinating city, then heading off on a 7 hour bus journey through the mountains to Sheki up in the North for a few weeks before coming back South to Baku and surrounds for race!

We are up in the mountains now, on the old Silk Road. Ancient and beautiful and once again surrounded by kindness. Thank you for your good wishes. Sending love to you both.
